Juliette Rassi

Professor at the Lebanese University since 1987

   Professor at the Lebanese University since 1987, holds a PhD from Sorbonne University - Paris IV.

Specializes in Arab-Islamic history and manuscript verification. Currently works as a supervising professor at the Higher Doctoral Institute - History Department.

She held the position of Head of the History Department at the Faculty of Arts - Second Branch (2011-2015), and Head of the Doctoral Committee in History at the Higher Doctoral Institute (2018-2021).

She participated in a large number of local, Arab and international conferences.

She has more than 50 published research papers in specialized scientific journals, in Arabic, French and English, most of which are from unpublished manuscripts and archives.

She participated in publishing the book “The Arab East in the Middle Ages” (the third section related to Fatimid history), in 1996.

She also investigated a section of “Mirat al-Zaman fi Tarikh al-A’yan” by the historian Sabt Ibn al-Jawzi, for the years 395-411 AH/1004-1021 AD, published by the French Institute for the Near East in 2005.

She investigated the manuscript “Sighs of Syria” by Gabriel Shahada, 2016.

She recently completed the investigation of “The Book of Typikon” by the Montenegrin monk Nikon, 2024.
