Summary :
Born in Jerusalem. Licence in philosophy from Fuad 1st University in Cairo, MA
then Ph.D in Arabic from AUB Beirut.
First taught Arabic literature at the French Protestant College in
Beirut and later at the Lebanese American University in Beirut. Received
several prizes and awards, the most important: Chevalier dans l”Ordre des
Palmes Academiques (1979)
Prince Claus prize (1998)
The body of teachers’ prize for
children’s books (1997)
The Lebanese libraries’ prize for the
best children’s book since 1997.
Married and the mother of three
children and four grandchildren.
